Meuser

The Kunsthalle will present a comprehensive solo exhibition of works by Meuser (b. in 1947). Meuser studied under Joseph Beuys and Erwin Heerich at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1968 until 1972. In 1992 he took part in the documenta IX. During the same year he was appointed professor at the State Academy for Fine Arts Karlsruhe. He lives and works in Düsseldorf.

Description of the Museum

Hosting an array of exhibitions, but without its own collection, contemporary art movements and positions, as well as their historical and local points of reference, were crucial to the Kunsthalle's program from the start.

Ever since the building on the Grabbeplatz opened, it has housed two independent institutions, the Kunsthalle and the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen.

The Kunsthalle, a concrete block built in 1967, is one of the most concise buildings in Düsseldorf, a now rare example of raw architecture. Architects: Beckmann and Brockes
