NORTHERN LIGHTS - 84th FALL EXHIBITION

As the only survey exhibition dealing with contemporary art in Lower Saxony, the Fall Exhibition has a significant position in the state’s cultural and educational profile. In order to suitably present the wide range of artistic positions developed here, the Kunstverein Hannover attempts to win further exhibition partners for the exhibition, and we have previously limited ourselves to supplementary exhibition venues in Hannover to make as concentrated an overview of the most important position in the Lower Saxon art scene as possible.
The exhibition Northern Lights does not simply comprehend itself as a collecting point for art from the region, but rather as a specific platform for extraordinary positions. Quality therefore has the highest priority in the selection of the participating artists. Traditionally, the stipend winners of the Prize of Kunstverein Hannover, which comprises a two-year residency at the “Villa Minimo” followed by an exhibition at the Kunstverein, in addition to the award winner of the “Art Prize of the Sparkasse Hannover” are determined in conjunction with the Fall Exhibition. The selection of the invited artists as well as the various prize winners is made by a jury made up of regional and national specialists.
The exhibition, which will be complemented by numerous events, will be accompanied by a catalogue that again contains a commentated and revised survey of the state’s exhibition venues and art academies.
jury members:
Yilmaz Dzievior, Martin Engler, Gerlinde Harig, Sabine Himmelsbach, Leni Hoffmann, Julia Schmid, Ulrike Schneider, Rüdiger Stanko
