Description of the Museum

aut. architektur und tirol endeavours to create a central public institute, that tries to give understanding of different building aspects, composes innovative impulses and encourages the debate on ambitious Tyrolean architecture, art and design.

Brief description of the building
The former Brewery-House named Adambräu near the central station of Innsbruck was planned in 1926/27 by the architect Lois Welzenbacher. This symbolic historic building of classical Modernism was adapted 2000/2004 by the architect partnership köberl+giner&wucherer_pfeifer (Rainer Köberl, Thomas Giner, Erich Wucherer, Andreas Pfeifer) for aut. architektur und tirol and the «Archiv für Baukunst der Universität Innsbruck » (Archive for architecture of the university of Innsbruck).
