Horst Antes: And maybe I'll paint something tomorrow

When he was still very young, Horst Antes became well-known to the public because of his so-called cephalopod motif. He found this shape at the beginning of the 1960s and used it in various ways in sculptures as well as in paintings. It may rightly be called his leitmotif. As HAP Grieshaber's pupil, Horst Antes so developed an independent figurative imagery which broke away from Art Informel and Tachism early on and which won him international recognition.
