4 August 2007 – 30 December 2007 Edvard Munch - Signs of Modern ArtThe radical innovations of Edvard Munch (1863 - 1944), Norwegian painter and graphic artist, are the subject of an extensive special exhibition at the Kunsthalle Würth. More even than on his significance as forerunner and founder of Expressionism, we focus on Munch’s indispensable and unique contribution to modern art.Munch’s treatment of profound human feelings such as loneliness and love, and his concern with death, were merciless and compelling. Birth and decay, destruction and creation were his themes, depicted with the aid of a great range of means.
