Description of the Museum

The Museu do Chiado - National Museum of Contemporary Art, located in Lisbon’s historical centre, has a vast collection of Portuguese art stretching from around the 1850s until the present day. The collection presents the opportunity to see and study some of the more important works by Portuguese artists, as well as the range of artistic movements and practices that have been developed over a century and a half.
