DAVID GOLDBLATT: INTERSECTIONS INTERSECTED

Internationally esteemed, David Goldblatt’s photos are deeply rooted in the reality of South Africa. Before the end of apartheid in 1994 he consciously limited himself to black and white images scrutinizing the living conditions of the White ruling class and the discriminated non-White population. After 1994 he ventured to large landscape images in colour. What does it mean for an artist if the reality he had been attached to for many years undergoes a fundamental change?
