Make your mark!

The Lehmbruck Museum owns a significant collection of prints with in excess of 4,000 items. For curatorial reasons, only a small number of these can ever be exhibited, because most of the works are very sensitive to light. There are many treasures in the museum storehouse which only reveal themselves to visitors rarely. Nonetheless, as an art genre, graphic art is subject to changing popularity.

The works, often fragmented and rich in detail, demand concentration when being observed. Some lack of understanding becomes apparent even when we meet the graphic techniques, e.g. lithography, serigraphy, monotyping and etching. This exhibition aims to show how graphic art is created, the different techniques that are used and what masterful graphic art looks like.
