n 1850 the photographers of the Imperial Printing Office started their unique documentary of a city undergoing radical change: various large-sized panoramic pictures of Vienna, from the development of St. Stephen’s Cathedral to the demolition of the medieval town walls, offered a commanding view of the imperial capital and its major building projects.

Description of the Museum
