ZBYNEK BALADRÁN

For the Secession's display case, the Hungarian curator Hajnalka Somogyi has conceived a project comprising three exhibitions with Eastern European artists. The project's title FOOTNOTES draws a parallel between the exhibition site's topography and the structure of a text: Not only does it allude to a mode of presentation, due to which an author enlarges upon the issues discussed in the main text, but also to gestures with wich the reader notes personal (Counter) opinions, or states questions. In doing so, the display case is understood as site for presenting annotations on contemporary art also beyond institutional walls. With GLOSSARY, the first project within this series, the Czech artist Zbynek Baladrán visualizes a diagramm of arbitrarily fused thoughts, associative lines, and fragmented ideas.
