GÜNTHER DOMENIG - Graphic Works at the MAK

As a member of the vanguard in architecture, Günther Domenig (born 1934), with his intensive preoccupation with sculptural elements, continues to make waves internationally. In his architecture he anticipated what is today possible only with the aid of the most modern information technology. The central project is a stone house that has become a cult object - his own house in Carinthia. Domenig has now donated important parts of his graphic work (drawings and photos) to the Republic of Austria, especially work concerning the stone house. His relationship with the MAK has lasted almost 20 years and was a key factor in his work being handed over to the museum. The planned exhibition shows more than 200 works which bear witness to the radicalism of Domenig’s architecture.
